Chlorhexidine Wand

A chlorhexidine wand is a single-use applicator that delivers chlorhexidine antiseptic to skin or other designated clinical surfaces, helping reduce microbial contamination before medical procedures. As the wand releases the solution, chlorhexidine disrupts microbial cell membranes and remains associated with treated surfaces, providing immediate and persistent antimicrobial activity. Clinicians use these applicators for surgical site preparation, vascular access, injections, and other interventions in which limiting surface microorganisms can reduce infection risk. Proper selection, application, drying time, and attention to tissue compatibility are essential for safe and effective antisepsis in clinical practice.

Source: Madeline Lassche, MSNEd, RN and Katie Baraki, MSN, RN, College of Nursing, University of Utah, UT Central venous access devices (CVAD), commonly known as central lines or central catheters, are large-bore intravenous (IV) catheters that are introduced into the central circulation. Typically, CVADs terminate in the superior vena cava, just outside of the right atrium of the heart, but they may also terminate in any one of the great veins (i.e., aorta, inferior vena cava, brachiocephalic...

This report presents details of how to adopt the acromion marker cluster method of obtaining scapular kinematics when using a passive marker motion capture device. As has been described in the literature, this method provides a robust, non-invasive, three-dimensional, dynamic and valid measurement of scapular kinematics, minimizing skin movement artifact.
