Digital Twin Technology

Digital twin technology creates a dynamic virtual representation of a physical object, system, or process, providing a data-driven way to understand behavior and support decisions. It connects sensors, operational data, and computational models so the digital counterpart updates as conditions change, enabling monitoring, simulation, prediction, and what-if analysis. In engineering, digital twins can represent components, machines, buildings, or entire production systems across their life cycles. They help detect anomalies, optimize performance, evaluate design changes before physical implementation, and improve maintenance planning and resource use. Their value depends on accurate models, reliable data streams, and clear links between virtual predictions and measured system behavior.

Guide Wire Assisted Catheterization and Colored Dye Injection for Vascular Mapping of Monochorionic Twin Placentas

2011

Vascular mapping of monochorionic (MC) twin placentas after birth provides a means for detailed demonstration of vascular connections between the twins’ circulations. Imbalance of these connections is thought to play a pivotal role in the development of complications of MC twinning including twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

Here, we present a protocol for a mosaic labeling technique that permits the visualization of neurons derived from a common progenitor cell in two distinct colors. This facilitates neural lineage analysis with the capability of birth-dating individual neurons and studying gene function in the same neurons of different individuals.

A method is described for efficient purification of twin-Strep-tagged fusion proteins and their specific complexes on modified streptavidin (Strep-Tactin) resin covalently cross-linked with Bis(sulfosuccinimidyl) suberate (BS3). The method has the advantages of fast speed, good target protein recovery and high purity, and is compatible with subsequent analysis by mass spectrometry.
