Model-based Systems Engineering

Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is an engineering approach that uses structured digital models as the primary means for defining, analyzing, communicating, and managing complex systems throughout their life cycles. Rather than relying mainly on disconnected documents, MBSE represents requirements, architecture, components, interfaces, behaviors, and verification relationships in an integrated model, often using systems modeling languages and traceability links. This approach helps teams detect inconsistencies earlier, evaluate design alternatives, coordinate multidisciplinary work, and maintain configuration control as systems evolve. In engineering projects such as aerospace, automotive, defense, and other safety-critical domains, MBSE supports clearer decisions, improved collaboration, and more reliable system development.

Transgenesis, or the use of genetic engineering to alter gene expression, is widely used in the field of developmental biology. Scientists use a number of approaches to alter the function of genes to understand their roles in developmental processes. This includes replacement of a gene with a nonfunctional copy, or adding a visualizable tag to a gene that allows the resultant fusion protein to be tracked throughout development. In this video, the viewers will learn about the principles behind...
