Poly-iclc Stimulation

Poly-ICLC stimulation is an immunological method that uses polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid stabilized with poly-L-lysine and carboxymethylcellulose to mimic viral double-stranded RNA and activate innate antiviral defenses. After administration, poly-ICLC engages pattern-recognition receptors such as Toll-like receptor 3 and melanoma differentiation-associated protein 5, triggering signaling pathways that induce type I interferons, inflammatory cytokines, and other antiviral genes. In infection research, this response helps investigators model virus-induced immune activation, evaluate vaccine adjuvants, and study how innate signals shape adaptive immunity. Poly-ICLC stimulation can therefore clarify host-pathogen interactions and support development of antiviral and immunomodulatory strategies.
