Stable Gene Integration

Stable gene integration is the durable insertion of a DNA sequence into a cell’s genome, allowing the added gene to persist as cells divide and providing consistent expression for long-term studies. The process uses delivery systems such as integrating viral vectors or targeted recombination to place DNA within chromosomal material, where regulatory elements control its activity. In immunology and infection research, stable integration supports the generation of engineered immune cells, reporter cell lines, and host or pathogen models for analyzing gene function, cellular responses, and infection dynamics. These systems improve experimental reproducibility and enable sustained evaluation of immune signaling, pathogen interactions, and therapeutic strategies.
