Continuous Telemetry Monitoring

Continuous telemetry monitoring is the ongoing measurement and remote transmission of physiological data, allowing clinicians to assess patients without relying solely on intermittent checks. In medicine, sensors and bedside devices capture signals such as heart rhythm, heart rate, oxygen saturation, or blood pressure and send them to a central monitoring system, which displays trends and can generate alerts when values cross defined thresholds. This approach supports early recognition of arrhythmias, hypoxemia, hemodynamic changes, and other signs of clinical deterioration. It is used in emergency departments, inpatient wards, intensive care, and ambulatory settings to guide timely evaluation and treatment while improving observation efficiency.
