Diode Laser Welding

Diode laser welding is a technique that uses semiconductor-generated laser light to join materials through precisely controlled heat, with medical applications in tissue repair and device fabrication. The laser delivers localized energy at a selected wavelength, causing targeted melting, fusion, or thermal bonding while limiting heat spread to surrounding structures. In medicine, this approach can support the closure of soft tissues, attachment of biomaterials, and fabrication or repair of small medical components where precision and minimal mechanical trauma are important. By enabling controlled, contact-free joining, diode laser welding may improve surgical handling, reduce the need for sutures or adhesives in selected procedures, and advance minimally invasive technologies.
