Outcome Compatibility

Outcome compatibility in medicine is the degree to which a measured health outcome appropriately reflects the clinical question, treatment goal, and patient context. It is assessed by comparing an outcome measure’s definition, timing, sensitivity, and relevance with the condition being evaluated and the decision it will inform. Compatible outcomes can capture meaningful changes in symptoms, function, quality of life, or survival, while poorly matched measures may obscure benefits or risks. This concept supports clinical trial design, evidence synthesis, personalized care, and health technology assessment by helping researchers and clinicians select measures that produce interpretable, patient-relevant results.

We have developed a technique to test protein-protein interactions in plant. A yellow fluorescent protein (YFP) is split into two non-overlapping fragments. Each fragment is cloned in-frame to a gene of interest via Gateway system, enabling expression of fusion proteins. Reconstitution of YFP signal only occurs when the inquest proteins interact.

Source: Robert M. Rioux & Taslima A. Zaman, Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA While the use of various chemicals in experimental research is essential, it is also important to safely store and maintain them as a part of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program. The properties of chemicals and their reactivity vary broadly and if chemicals are not managed, stored, and labeled properly, they can have harmful or even destructive consequences such as toxic fume...
