Tumor Lesion Recording

Tumor lesion recording is the systematic documentation of tumor lesions, including their location, size, number, and observable characteristics, in clinical records or imaging assessments. It matters because consistent records allow clinicians to compare disease burden over time and communicate findings accurately. During the process, clinicians identify lesions through examination or diagnostic imaging, document standardized features, and repeat assessments under comparable conditions to detect growth, regression, or new disease. In medicine, tumor lesion recording supports diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, response evaluation, surveillance, and clinical research by turning observations into trackable data.

We developed a method to successfully remove, process, section, and stain, for histopathological evaluation, mammary tissue that had originally been fixed on slides as whole mounts. This method may promote the collection and evaluation of mammary gland whole mounts in reproductive and developmental test guideline studies.
