Lamp Validation

LAMP validation is the systematic assessment of a loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay to determine whether it reliably detects a specified nucleic acid target. The method uses multiple primers and a strand-displacing DNA polymerase to amplify target sequences at a constant temperature, while validation evaluates analytical sensitivity, specificity, repeatability, and resistance to inhibitors in environmental samples. In environmental monitoring, validated LAMP assays can support rapid detection of microbial contaminants, pathogens, or indicator organisms in water, soil, and other matrices. Establishing performance under realistic sample conditions improves confidence in field-based testing and helps determine whether the assay is suitable for routine surveillance or complementary laboratory analysis.

Reliability and Validity

Reliability and validity are two important considerations that must be made with any type of data collection. Reliability refers to the ability to consistently produce a given result. In the context of psychological research, this would mean that any instruments or tools used to collect data do so in consistent, reproducible ways. Unfortunately, being consistent in measurement does not necessarily mean that you have measured something correctly. To illustrate this concept, consider a kitchen...

Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) Assays for the Species-specific Detection of Eimeria that Infect Chickens

2015

Diagnosis of Eimeria infection in chickens remains demanding. Parasite morphology- and host pathology-led approaches are commonly inconclusive, while molecular approaches based on PCR have proven demanding in cost and expertise. The aim of this protocol is to establish loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) as a straightforward molecular diagnostic for eimerian infection.

Method validation is a crucial process in analytical chemistry designed to confirm that a given method consistently produces reliable and high-quality results. This process is essential when a method is applied to different sample matrices or when procedural modifications are made, ensuring that the results meet acceptable standards across various applications. Key parameters for method validation include: Specificity: The ability of the method to accurately measure the target analyte without...

Data validation is an essential part of a comprehensive assessment. Validation is confirming or verifying and opening the door to gathering more assessment data as it clarifies vague or unclear data. The process of checking and verifying the collected information is called data validation. The primary purpose of data validation is to ensure data is as free from error, bias, and misinterpretation as possible. Nursing assessment guides are generally based on holistic models rather than medical...

2018

This paper reports the protocol for a rapid identification assay for Bemisia tabaci based on loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technology. The protocol requires minimal laboratory training and can, therefore, be implemented on-site at points of entry for plant imports such as seaports and airports.
