Duodenal Papillary Adenoma

Duodenal papillary adenoma is a benign epithelial tumor arising from the major duodenal papilla, where the bile duct and pancreatic duct empty into the intestine, and it matters because it can develop into cancer. These lesions commonly reflect dysplastic glandular growth and may enlarge enough to obstruct biliary or pancreatic drainage, causing jaundice, pancreatitis, or other clinical findings. Diagnosis relies on endoscopic visualization, tissue sampling, and assessment of duct involvement. Depending on size, histology, and anatomy, treatment may involve endoscopic removal or surgery, followed by surveillance to detect residual, recurrent, or malignant disease.

Three-dimensional culture in alginate beads, due to its simplicity and reproducibility, was chosen to maintain the pituitary adenoma cells. The procedures included an initial enzymatic digestion and mechanical dissociation of the tumor tissue, and the subsequent cell suspension was encapsulated in alginate beads.

Dermis The dermis might be considered the "core" of the integumentary system, as distinct from the epidermis and hypodermis. It contains blood and lymph vessels, nerves, and other structures, such as hair follicles and sweat glands. The dermis is made of two layers of connective tissue that comprise an interconnected mesh of elastin and collagenous fibers, produced by fibroblasts. Papillary Layer The papillary layer is made of loose, areolar connective tissue, which means the collagen and...

This protocol presents robotic duodenum-preserving total pancreatic head resection (R-DPPHRt) for intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs). A video demonstrates the technique in a patient with main duct-IPMN, highlighting its feasibility as a minimally invasive, organ-preserving alternative to pancreaticoduodenectomy.
