Efficacy Assessment

Efficacy assessment is the systematic evaluation of how well a medical intervention produces its intended biological or clinical effect. It typically compares predefined outcomes, such as symptom improvement, biomarker changes, or disease control, between treated and control groups using structured study designs and statistical analysis. In medicine, efficacy assessment helps distinguish whether an observed benefit is attributable to an intervention rather than chance or unrelated changes in patient status. Findings inform clinical research, treatment development, regulatory decisions, and evidence-based care, while also guiding comparisons among therapies and identifying which patient groups may benefit most.
