This article outlines acupoint catgut embedding therapy for chronic pelvic pain caused by the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory diseases.
Our research focuses on developing effective treatments for chronic pelvic pain due to the sickening of pelvic inflammatory disease. Our study found that acupuncture point varying can improve patients'clinical symptoms and the quality of life. Compared to a system Western medicine treatment methods, accuppoint catgun embedding offers advantages such as a good energetic effect, lower recurrence rate, economy benefits, and a relativity straightforward procedure.
We will focus on the efficacy of external Chinese medicine for the relief of chronic pelvic pain in women and the developments of treatments protocols. To begin, prepare sterile gloves, disposable catgut embedding needles and disposable thread embedding kit. Instruct the patient to lie on their back, relax and fully expose the abdomen and lower limbs.
Then examine the skin condition at the target acupoint location and proceed if there are no abnormalities. Ensure the physician performs routine hand disinfection, sterilizes target acupuncture points and wears sterile gloves. Then verify that the core of the disposable thread embedding needle and the needle tube align smoothly.
Use tweezers in the right hand to place the catgut into the needle tube. Select the acupoints for Now tighten the skin at the needle insertion site with the left hand and grasp the needle tube with the thumb, index and middle fingers of the right hand. Then insert the needle swiftly downwards at a 90 degree angle to the skin.
Afterward, push the needle core and withdraw the needle tube, leaving the catgut in the chi receiving area. To extract the needle, press the skin at the acupoint with the left hand while pulling out the needle core and barrel with the right hand, then compress the needle hole with the sterilized dry cotton ball for 30 seconds and apply a medical patch to the needle hole for two days.
This article outlines acupoint catgut embedding therapy for chronic pelvic pain caused by the sequelae of pelvic inflammatory diseases. The study emphasizes the efficacy of this method compared to traditional Western medicine treatments.
Chronic pelvic pain due to pelvic inflammatory disease sequelae presents a persistent challenge in women's health, with limited efficacy and high recurrence in standard treatments. The described acupoint catgut embedding protocol offers a reproducible, minimally invasive intervention with potential for improved symptom management and reduced recurrence. For biopharma R&D, such methods highlight opportunities for mechanistic de-risking and translational exploration in pain modulation pathways.
This protocol fits within the discovery-to-preclinical continuum for pain management, enabling hypothesis testing and comparative analysis of intervention efficacy.
