Group Sessions

Group sessions are structured meetings in which individuals with shared behavioral goals participate in guided discussion, activities, or therapeutic exercises. A facilitator establishes objectives and ground rules, while participants learn through instruction, practice, feedback, and observation of how others respond to similar situations. In behavior research and practice, group sessions can support skill development, motivation, communication, and behavior change while also providing opportunities to examine social influences on individual actions. Researchers and practitioners use them to study interaction patterns, evaluate behavioral interventions, and deliver support efficiently across settings such as education, healthcare, and community programs.

Short session (≤10 min) high intensity interval training (HIIT) is emerging as an alternative to longer exercise modalities, yet the shorter variants are rarely modeled in animal studies. Here, we describe a 10 min, 3 day a week, uphill treadmill HIIT protocol that enhances physical performance in male and female aged mice.

This protocol describes a method for calculating Heart Rate Variability (HRV) from electrocardiogram (ECG) waveforms. Waveforms from continuous heart rate (HR) recordings during active video game (AVG) sessions were used to measure the aerobic performance of youth with cerebral palsy (CP).

A Procedure to Study the Effect of Prolonged Food Restriction on Heroin Seeking in Abstinent Rats

A procedure that allows a demonstration of robust augmentation of drug seeking in food-restricted rats is described. Following heroin self-administration training, rats go through an abstinence period, in a drug-free environment, during which they are mildly food restricted. Drug seeking is then tested in the drug-associated environment.

Clinical Efficacy of an Innovative Multidimensional Traction Therapy in Moderate Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis

2026

This protocol reports a randomized clinical trial that uses the major-curve Cobb angle as the primary structural outcome to evaluate the efficacy of multidimensional traction combined with bracing and mirror-corrective exercises in moderate adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

This paper describes the use of a desktop virtual store to create virtual shopping environments to investigate in-store consumer behavior. A description of the protocol to build and run experiments, example results from an experiment concerning store layout, and important considerations when conducting virtual store experiments are presented.
