Pressure Sensor Sheet

A pressure sensor sheet is a thin, flexible measurement surface that detects where and how strongly force is applied, converting physical contact into data. It contains an array of sensing elements whose electrical resistance or capacitance changes when compressed, allowing connected electronics to generate spatial and time-dependent pressure maps. In behavior research, these sheets quantify contact patterns, weight shifts, posture, locomotion, and interactions without requiring extensive restraints or visual inference. The resulting measurements provide objective evidence of movement and force distribution, supporting studies of motor behavior, social interactions, and responses to environmental conditions.

Glovebox and Impurity Sensors

2023

Source: Tamara M. Powers, Department of Chemistry, Texas A&M University The glovebox provides a straightforward means to handle air- and moisture-sensitive solids and liquids. The glovebox is what it sounds like: a box with gloves attached to one or more sides, which allows the user to perform manipulations within the glovebox under an inert atmosphere. For manipulations under inert atmospheres, chemists can choose between Schlenk or high-vacuum techniques and a glovebox. Schlenk and...

2013

The laser heated diamond anvil cell combined with synchrotron micro-diffraction techniques allows researchers to explore the nature and properties of new phases of matter at extreme pressure and temperature (PT) conditions. Heterogeneous samples can be characterized in situ under high pressure by 2D mapping and combined powder, single-crystal and multigrain diffraction approaches.

A balance sheet is a key component of financial statement analysis. It provides a snapshot of a company's financial position at a given time by listing its assets, liabilities, and shareholders' equity. It includes both current and long-lived assets and current and long-term liabilities. Assets reflect what the company owns, such as cash, inventory, and real estate, whereas liabilities represent what the company owes, including debts like loans and accounts payable. Balance sheet analysis is...

Epidural Intracranial Pressure Measurement in Rats Using a Fiber-optic Pressure Transducer

2012

A novel technique to record the pressures within the skull is described. The minimally invasive method uses a fibre-optic pressure sensing system to accurately measure intracranial pressure (ICP) in anaesthetized rats without causing significant brain trauma. The technique may be used in a wide range of experimental models.
