Falcon Culture Plate

Falcon culture plates are laboratory vessels used to grow, maintain, and analyze cells under controlled conditions, making them important tools in biology and biomedical research. Their individual wells hold defined volumes of culture medium, while a tissue-culture-treated surface promotes attachment and spreading of anchorage-dependent cells during incubation. Researchers use these plates for routine cell culture, microscopy, viability assays, drug-response testing, and comparisons among experimental conditions. Because multiple wells can be handled in parallel, Falcon culture plates support reproducible experiments while conserving samples and reagents, contributing to studies of cell behavior, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic development.

Culture of Isolated Floor Plate Tissue and Production of Conditioned Medium to Assess Functional Properties of Floor Plate-released Signals

2014

The floor plate is a crucial structure of the developing spinal cord, providing diffusible signals to progenitors and differentiating neurons. We describe a method to produce floor-plate conditioned medium, to apply it to fresh spinal cord tissue, and to assess the consequences on proteins of interest by biochemistry.

2015

This protocol describes a cell transplantation system using genetically modified, injectable spheroids. Cell spheroids are cultured on micropatterned culture plates and recovered after gene introduction using polyplex nanomicelles. This system facilitates prolonged transgene expression from the transplanted cells in host animals while maintaining the innate function of the cells.
