Peptide Introduction

Peptides are short chains of amino acids connected by peptide bonds, serving as essential components and messengers in biological systems. Cells form peptides through condensation reactions that link the carboxyl group of one amino acid to the amino group of another, while the resulting sequence determines its structure, stability, and interactions with other molecules. Peptides function as hormones, neurotransmitters, antimicrobial agents, and intermediates in protein production, making them central to cell communication and regulation. Studying peptide structure and activity supports research in molecular biology, drug development, diagnostics, and biotechnology.

An Introduction to Organogenesis

2023

Organogenesis is the process by which organs arise from one of three germ layers during the later stages of embryonic development. Researchers studying organogenesis want to better understand the genetic programs, cell-cell interactions, and mechanical forces involved in this process. Ultimately, scientists hope to use this knowledge to create therapies and artificial organs that will help treat human diseases. This video offers a comprehensive overview of organogenesis, including historical...
