Trypsin Solution

Trypsin Solution is a laboratory preparation of trypsin, a proteolytic enzyme that breaks down proteins and supports essential procedures in biology. By hydrolyzing peptide bonds, particularly those involving lysine and arginine residues, trypsin can detach cells from the protein-rich surfaces of culture vessels and digest proteins in controlled samples. Researchers use it for cell passaging, tissue dissociation, protein analysis, and sample preparation, although exposure time and concentration must be carefully controlled to limit unwanted damage. Its broad utility makes trypsin solution an important tool in cell culture, biochemistry, molecular biology, and biotechnology.

Making Solutions in the Laboratory

2023

The ability to successfully make solutions is a basic laboratory skill performed in virtually all biological and chemical experiments. A solution is a homogenous mixture of solute dissolved in bulk liquid known as the solvent. Solutions can be described by their solute concentration, a measure of how much solute is present per unit of solution. In this video, a step-by-step procedure for how to make a water-based, or aqueous, solution for biological applications is presented. The video...
