Ambient Temperature Cycling

Ambient Temperature Cycling is an engineering test method that repeatedly exposes a material, component, or assembly to changing surrounding temperatures to assess its thermal performance and reliability. As temperature shifts, materials expand and contract at different rates, creating mechanical stress at interfaces, joints, coatings, and internal structures; repeated cycles can reveal cracking, delamination, seal failure, or changes in function. Engineers use this method for environmental qualification, accelerated reliability assessment, and design validation across electronics, aerospace, automotive, and industrial systems. Results help identify thermal weaknesses, compare materials and assemblies, and improve products intended to operate under variable environmental conditions.

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy is an unambiguous method to measure free radicals. The use of selective spin probes allows for detection of free radicals in different cellular compartments. We present a practical, efficient method to collect biological samples that facilitate treating, storing, and transferring samples for EPR measurements.
