Silicone Array Module

A silicone array module is an engineered assembly of repeated silicone elements organized into a defined pattern, combining the material’s flexibility, resilience, and environmental stability with the scalability of modular design. Its operation depends on the geometry, spacing, and mechanical interaction of individual elements, which can distribute forces, accommodate deformation, or create consistent contact across the array. In engineering, these modules support adaptable component design, rapid prototyping, and integration into systems requiring compliant interfaces or repeatable physical performance. Studying their material behavior and array architecture helps researchers optimize durability, manufacturability, and function for specialized devices and larger engineered systems.

Polycrystalline silicon thin-film solar cells on glass are fabricated by deposition of boron and phosphorous doped silicon layers followed by crystallisation, defect passivation and metallisation. Plasmonic light-trapping is introduced by forming Ag nanoparticles on the silicon cell surface capped with a diffused reflector resulting in ~45% photocurrent enhancement.
