Cell Processing Chamber

A cell processing chamber is a specialized enclosure that provides a controlled, aseptic workspace for handling, modifying, and preparing cells, helping protect cultures, operators, and products from contamination. It works by isolating cell-processing activities within a regulated environment, where access, air quality, and other operating conditions can be managed throughout procedures such as cell expansion, washing, concentration, and formulation. In medicine, these chambers support the preparation of cell-based therapies, tissue-engineering materials, and research samples. By improving process consistency and reducing contamination risk, they contribute to safer manufacturing, more reliable experimental results, and the development of advanced regenerative and personalized treatments.

2026

A design is presented to enable cost-effective low-temperature battery cycling for 2032 coin cells in a low-humidity environment. Cells are cycled at 0 °C inside a chamber cooled by thermoelectric modules. This simple design can be adapted for experiments that require similar thermal and humidity-controlled environments or different battery geometries.

Analysis of Trunk Neural Crest Cell Migration using a Modified Zigmond Chamber Assay

2012

An approach to analyze the migration of explanted cells (trunk neural crest cells) is described. This method is inexpensive, gentle, and capable of distinguishing chemotaxis from both chemokinesis and other influences on migratory polarity such as those derived from cell-cell interactions within the primary trunk neural crest cell culture.
