Lung Adenocarcinoma Cells

Lung adenocarcinoma cells are malignant gland-forming epithelial cells that arise in the lung and can proliferate uncontrollably, invade surrounding tissue, and spread to distant organs. Their behavior results from accumulated genetic and epigenetic changes that disrupt growth control, cell death, DNA repair, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment. In medicine, these cells are examined in tissue samples and laboratory models to identify diagnostic features, characterize molecular biomarkers, and assess responses to targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and conventional treatments. Studying their biology supports earlier detection, more precise disease classification, and the development of personalized treatment strategies for patients with lung cancer.

Adenocarcinoma Engraftment: A Method to Implant Cancer Cells into the Murine Lungs

2023

This video describes a method to engraft lung adenocarcinoma cells in murine lungs by preconditioning the airways with fibrosis-inducing agent–bleomycin. This method significantly enhances orthotopic engraftment of lung cancer cells into murine...

2023

This video describes the protocol for ultrasound-guided orthotopic implantation of murine-derived pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells directly into the pancreas of the mouse. This causes less inflammation at the implantation site compared to surgical procedures.
