Ct-based Navigation

CT-based navigation is an image-guided technique that uses computed tomography (CT) data to plan and guide procedures involving anatomically complex regions, including the brain and skull. The system reconstructs CT images into a three-dimensional model, aligns that model with the patient’s anatomy through image registration, and tracks surgical instruments or targets relative to the displayed images. In neuroscience, this approach supports precise localization of lesions, trajectories, and critical structures during neurosurgical procedures. By linking preoperative imaging with real-time anatomical guidance, CT-based navigation can improve procedural planning, help clinicians avoid vulnerable tissue, and provide a framework for accurate, minimally invasive intervention.
