Fast Ccd Camera

A fast CCD camera is an imaging device that rapidly converts incoming light into digital images, enabling researchers to record quick changes in biological samples with high spatial detail. Its charge-coupled device accumulates photo-generated charge across an array of pixels, then transfers and reads these signals at high frame rates to track dynamic fluorescent or transmitted-light signals. In neuroscience, fast CCD cameras support recordings of neuronal activity, calcium signals, synaptic events, and tissue dynamics in cultured cells, brain slices, and intact preparations. These measurements help connect cellular signaling and neural physiology with patterns of activity across time and space.

2013

Dual camera emission splitting systems for two-color fluorescence microscopy generate real-time image sequences with exceptional optical and temporal resolution, a requirement of certain live cell assays including parallel plate flow chamber adhesion assays. When software is employed to merge images from simultaneously acquired emission channels, pseudocolored image sequences are produced.

Fast Reactions

2026

Fast reactions occurring in times shorter than the time needed to mix reactants pose a unique challenge for investigation. In a liquid-phase continuous-flow system, reactants A and B are swiftly pushed into the mixing chamber, where mixing occurs within 1 ms. The reaction mixture then flows through an observation tube, and one measures light absorption to determine species concentrations at various points of the tube. This method is most appropriate when relatively large volumes of reactants...
