Arm Muscles and Their Movements

Arm muscles move the humerus through flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, and rotation. Nine muscles help produce these arm movements. Two of them, the pectoralis major and latissimus dorsi, come from the axial skeleton. The other seven begin on the scapula and are called scapular muscles.

肩胛骨上方区域的冈上肌协助三角肌完成手臂外展。

肩胛骨后部的冈下肌引起手臂外旋。

 小圆肌与冈下肌共同作用，引起手臂的伸展和外旋。

肩胛下肌位于肩胛骨的前表面，可引起上臂的内旋。

冈上肌、冈下肌、小圆肌和肩胛下肌及其相应的肌腱共同构成肩袖。
