Adhd Comorbid

ADHD comorbidity refers to the presence of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder alongside one or more additional mental, behavioral, or developmental conditions, such as anxiety, depression, learning disorders, or conduct problems. Shared neurodevelopmental and environmental influences can contribute to overlapping symptoms, while inattention, impulsivity, and emotional or behavioral difficulties may interact and complicate assessment. Recognizing comorbid conditions helps clinicians distinguish symptom patterns, tailor behavioral interventions, and coordinate treatment across home, school, and clinical settings. In research, studying ADHD comorbidity clarifies how co-occurring disorders affect functioning, prognosis, and responses to behavioral or pharmacological approaches.

EEG-methods are applied for extracting biomarkers of brain dysfunctions. The focus is on multi-channel event-related potentials (ERPs) recorded in a cued GO/NOGO task. Non-brain artifacts are corrected and ERPs are compared with the normative data. Examples relate to biomarkers for ADHD diagnosis and prediction of medication response.
