Embryo Thawing Procedure

Embryo thawing is the laboratory procedure used to recover cryopreserved embryos for assessment and possible transfer during assisted reproduction. The process gradually warms embryos from cryogenic storage and moves them through solutions that remove cryoprotectants while controlling temperature, exposure time, and osmotic conditions to limit cellular stress. Embryologists then evaluate embryo survival and developmental appearance, allowing suitable embryos to proceed toward transfer or further culture. In biology and reproductive research, standardized thawing procedures support fertility treatment, embryo preservation, and studies of early development while helping laboratories achieve consistent recovery outcomes.

This video describes the technique of transferring embryos into the oviduct of a recipient female rabbit via Laparoscopy. It allows embryo remodeling in rabbits during its migration through the oviduct, eventually helping in successful implantation. This technique can also be used for stored embryos with good efficiency.
