Pot Experiment

A pot experiment is a controlled study in which plants or soil organisms are maintained in containers to investigate how specific environmental conditions affect biological responses. Researchers standardize factors such as soil type, water, nutrients, light, temperature, and chemical exposure, then compare treated plants with appropriate controls by measuring growth, biomass, nutrient uptake, or visible stress. In environmental science, pot experiments help isolate cause-and-effect relationships that are difficult to test in complex field settings. They are used to evaluate soil amendments, pollution impacts, nutrient cycling, plant tolerance, and phytoremediation potential before findings are assessed under more realistic outdoor conditions.

2011

A facile, one-pot synthesis of N-succinimidyl-4-[18F]fluorobenzoate ([18F]SFB) was developed based on a non-aqueous, three-step radiochemical process. Using microwave heating, the entire procedure can be completed in less than 30 min, or 60 min with further purification by preparative HPLC. The decay-corrected radiochemical yields (RCYs) were 35-5% (n > 30).

2019

CO2 transformations are conducted in a one-pot two-step procedure for the synthesis of complex molecules. The selective 4 e- reduction of CO2 with a hydroborane reductant affords a reactive and versatile bis(boryl)acetal intermediate which is subsequently involved in condensation reaction or carbene-mediated C-C coupling generation.
