Muscles of the Shoulder

Die Schultermuskulatur sorgt für Stabilität und Beweglichkeit des Schultergelenks.
Zu den vorderen Schultermuskeln gehören der Subclavius, der Pectoralis minor und der Serratus anterior.
Das Subclavius, ein kleiner Muskel, der sich von der ersten Rippe bis zum Schlüsselbein erstreckt, stabilisiert das Schlüsselbein bei Schulterbewegungen.
Der Pectoralis minor, ein flacher Muskel unter dem Pectoralis major, kippt das Schulterblatt nach vorne und zieht es nach unten. Es hebt auch den Thorax an und unterstützt die Atmung.
Der Serratus anterior, ein fächerförmiger Muskel auf der lateralen Seite des Brustkorbs, verlängert das Schulterblatt und unterstützt so die Schlagbewegungen.
Zu den hinteren Schultermuskeln gehören der Trapezius, der Levator scapulae und der rhomboide major und minor.
Der Trapezius, ein großer dreieckiger Muskel, bedeckt Rücken und Nacken und setzt am Schlüsselbein und Schulterblatt an. Es hebt, zieht und dreht das Schulterblatt, hebt das Schlüsselbein an und streckt den Hals.
Der Levator scapulae, ein länglicher Muskel im hinteren Hals, trägt zur Hebung und Adduktion des Schulterblatts bei.
Die großen und kleinen Rautenmuskeln helfen dabei, das Schulterblatt zurückzuziehen und medial zu drehen.

Die den Schultergürtel umgebenden Muskeln, einschließlich Schlüsselbein und Schulterblatt, stabilisieren in erster Linie das Schulterblatt. Diese stabile Basis ermöglicht es anderen Muskeln, den Oberarmknochen effektiv zu bewegen. Die Bewegungen des Schulterblatts spiegeln oft die des Oberarmknochens wider und erweitern dessen Bewegungsbereich. Beispielsweise wäre das Anheben des Arms über den Kopf ohne gleichzeitige Aufwärtsrotation des Schulterblatts nicht möglich.

Vordere Brustmuskulatur

Zu den vorderen Brustmuskeln gehören der Serratus anterior, der Subclavius und der Pectoralis Minor. Der Serratus anterior, oft auch Boxermuskel genannt, beginnt von der ersten bis zur achten oder neunten Rippe. Es setzt entlang des oberen und unteren Winkels des Schulterblatts sowie dessen medialer Grenze ein. Dieser Muskel ist entscheidend für die Abduktion und Aufwärtsrotation des Schulterblatts. Wenn das Schulterblatt fixiert ist, hilft es dabei, die Rippen anzuheben und so Schlagbewegungen zu unterstützen.

Der große Brustmuskel verbindet den Brustgürtel mit dem Brustkorb. Es entsteht an der Vorderfläche der oberen Ränder der zweiten oder dritten bis vierten oder fünften Rippe und setzt am Processus coracoideus des Schulterblatts an. Es kippt das Schulterblatt nach vorne und zieht es nach unten. Außerdem hebt es den Brustkorb an und unterstützt so die Atmung.

Der Musculus subclavius entspringt an der ersten Rippe und setzt an der Unterseite des lateralen Schlüsselbeins an. Seine Hauptfunktion besteht darin, das Schlüsselbein bei Schulter- und Armbewegungen zu stabilisieren. Es drückt auch das Schlüsselbein nach unten und bewegt es nach vorne.

Hintere Brustmuskulatur

Zu den hinteren Brustmuskeln gehören der Trapezius, der Levator scapulae und die kleinen und großen Rhomboidmuskeln. Der Trapezmuskel, einer der breitesten und ausgeprägtesten Muskeln, hat seine Wurzeln in der knöchernen Struktur der Hals- und Brustregion. Der Muskel entsteht aus der äußeren Ausstülpung des Hinterhauptbeins, dem Ligamentum nuchae und dem Dornfortsatz des siebten Halswirbels und aller Brustwirbel. Es setzt am Schlüsselbein entlang seines lateralen Drittels zusätzlich zum Akromion und der Wirbelsäule des Schulterblatts an. Es ist in drei Teile kategorisiert – die oberen, mittleren und unteren Fasern, die jeweils einzigartige Aktionen ausführen. Die oberen Fasern heben das Schulterblatt an und strecken den Hals, die mittleren Fasern adduzieren das Schulterblatt und die unteren Fasern senken das Schulterblatt.

Die Levator-Schulterblätter stammen aus dem Querfortsatz der Halswirbel C1-C4 und setzen am oberen Teil ihres medialen Randes in die Schulterblätter ein. Es hebt das Schulterblatt an und bewirkt dessen Abwärtsrotation. Außerdem wird der Hals seitlich gebeugt.

Das rhomboideus minus entspringt dem Nackenband und den Dornfortsätzen von C7 und T1 und setzt sich oberhalb der Wirbelsäule in den Wirbelrand des Schulterblatts ein. Andererseits entspringt der Rhomboideus Major von den Dornfortsätzen des T2 bis zum Wirbelrand des Schulterblatts, unterhalb der Wirbelsäule. Diese Muskeln helfen dabei, das Schulterblatt zurückzuziehen und nach medial zu drehen.

Shoulder girdle muscles stabilize the clavicle and scapula, and that support helps the humerus move efficiently. Scapular movement also works with humerus movement and extends the arm’s range of motion. Raising the arm overhead depends on upward rotation of the scapula.

The anterior thoracic muscles include the serratus anterior, subclavius, and pectoralis minor. The serratus anterior, often called the boxer’s muscle, starts on the first to eighth or ninth ribs and inserts along the superior and inferior angle of the scapula and its medial border. It abducts the scapula and rotates it upward. When the scapula is fixed, it can also help elevate the ribs during punching. The pectoralis major connects the pectoral girdle to the thorax. It begins on the front surface of the upper margins of the second or third to fourth or fifth ribs and inserts on the coracoid process of the scapula. This muscle tilts the scapula forward, pulls it downward, and helps elevate the thorax during breathing.

The subclavius muscle starts on the first rib and ends on the lower surface of the lateral clavicle. Its main job is to stabilize the clavicle during shoulder and arm movement. It also depresses the clavicle and moves it forward.

The posterior thoracic muscles include the trapezius, levator scapulae, rhomboid minor, and rhomboid major. The trapezius is a broad, distinct muscle that begins on the external protuberance of the occipital bone, the ligamentum nuchae, and the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra and all thoracic vertebrae. It inserts on the lateral third of the clavicle, the acromion, and the spine of the scapula. Its upper fibers elevate the scapula and extend the neck, its middle fibers adduct the scapula, and its lower fibers depress the scapula.

The levator scapulae originates from the transverse processes of cervical vertebrae C1 to C4 and inserts on the upper part of the medial border of the scapula. It elevates the scapula, turns it downward, and helps bend the neck to the side. The rhomboid minor starts from the nuchal ligament and spinous processes of C7 and T1, while the rhomboid major starts from the spinous processes of T2. Both insert on the vertebral border of the scapula, with the minor above the spine and the major below it. These muscles retract the scapula and rotate it medially.
