Muscles that Move the Thigh

Die Muskeln, die den Oberschenkel bewegen, haben ihren Ursprung am Beckengürtel und den Lendenwirbeln und setzen in den Oberschenkelknochen und das Schienbein ein.
Der Musculus iliopsoas ist ein wichtiger Hüftbeuger, der eine Kombination aus dem Musculus psoas major und dem Musculus iliacus ist.

Die Muskeln Adductor longus, Adductor brevis, Adductor magnus und Pektineus befinden sich medial am Oberschenkel und tragen zur Oberschenkeladduktion sowie zur medialen und lateralen Rotation bei. Normalerweise ist eine Leistenzerrung eine Verletzung eines dieser Muskeln.

Die Bewegung des Oberschenkels wird hauptsächlich durch Muskeln gesteuert, die ihren Ursprung im Beckengürtel haben und in den Oberschenkelknochen eindringen. Er fungiert in erster Linie als Hauptstrecker des Femurs. Umgekehrt streckt er bei seiner umgekehrten Muskelwirkung den Rumpf kraftvoll im Hüftgelenk.

Der Gluteus medius und der Gluteus minimus haben ihren Ursprung anterior des Gluteus maximus und setzen am Trochanter major des Femurs an. Der Musculus gluteus medius fungiert als starker Abduktor des Femurs am Hüftgelenk und ist aufgrund seiner Zugänglichkeit ein häufiger Ort für intramuskuläre Injektionen. In der Tiefe des Musculus gluteus maximus befinden sich sechs Muskeln – der Piriformis, der Obturator internus, der Obturator externus, der obere Gemellus superior, der Gemellus inferior und der Quadratus femoris, die als seitliche Rotatoren des Femurs am Hüftgelenk fungieren.

Darüber hinaus befindet sich der Musculus tensor fasciae latae an der Seitenfläche des Oberschenkels und setzt am lateralen Kondylus des Schienbeins an. Dieser Muskel trägt zusammen mit seinen Sehnen und dem Musculus gluteus maximus zur Bildung des Tractus iliotibialis bei. Wie der Name schon sagt, ist dieser Muskel von der Fascia lata umhüllt, einem dichten Bindegewebe, das den gesamten Oberschenkel umgibt.

Schließlich befinden sich auf der medialen Seite des Oberschenkels drei einzigartige Muskeln – der Adductor longus, der Adductor brevis und der Adductor magnus. Diese Muskeln entspringen dem Schambein und setzen am Oberschenkelknochen an, wobei sie den Oberschenkel adduzieren und die einzigartige Fähigkeit demonstrieren, den Oberschenkel sowohl medial als auch lateral zu drehen. Der M. adductor longus beugt außerdem den Oberschenkel, während der M. adductor magnus ihn streckt. Der Musculus pectineus ist auch an der Adduktion und Beugung des Femurs am Hüftgelenk beteiligt.

Hip muscles control thigh movement by connecting the pelvic girdle to the femur. The iliopsoas is one key muscle group. It is made of the psoas major and iliacus muscles. Both share a common insertion on the lesser trochanter of the femur.

The gluteal muscles also play major roles. The gluteus maximus starts on the posterior ilium, sacrum, coccyx, and thoracolumbar fascia. It inserts on the iliotibial tract and the gluteal tuberosity of the femur. This muscle is the chief extensor of the femur. In reverse muscle action, it also extends the torso at the hip joint.

The gluteus medius and gluteus minimus begin in front of the gluteus maximus origin and insert on the greater trochanter of the femur. The gluteus medius is a strong abductor, which means it moves the femur away from the body at the hip joint. It is also a common site for intramuscular injection because it is easy to reach.

Deep to the gluteus maximus are six lateral rotator muscles. These are the piriformis, obturator internus, obturator externus, superior gemellus, inferior gemellus, and quadratus femoris. They rotate the femur laterally at the hip joint. On the outer thigh, the tensor fasciae latae sits in the fascia lata, a dense connective tissue layer that surrounds the thigh, and helps form the iliotibial tract with its tendons and the gluteus maximus.

The medial thigh also contains important muscles. The adductor longus, adductor brevis, and adductor magnus start on the pubic bone and attach to the femur. They adduct the thigh, and they can rotate it both medially and laterally. The adductor longus also flexes the thigh, while the adductor magnus extends it. The pectineus also helps adduct and flex the femur at the hip joint.
