96 Well Plate

A 96-well plate is a laboratory microplate containing 96 separate wells that organize small-volume biological samples and reactions for efficient, parallel analysis. Each well functions as an individual reaction vessel, allowing researchers to add cells, reagents, nucleic acids, or proteins in defined volumes and measure changes with instruments such as microplate readers. In biology, 96-well plates support cell culture, enzyme assays, nucleic acid analysis, immunoassays, and drug screening, while reducing reagent use and experimental time. Their standardized format also enables controls, replicates, and systematic comparisons across experimental conditions, making them valuable for both routine testing and high-throughput research.
