Internal Organ Removal

Internal organ removal is the surgical excision of part or all of an organ from the body, a procedure that can treat disease, prevent complications, or provide tissue for pathological examination. After anesthesia, surgeons access the organ through an open incision or minimally invasive ports, separate it from surrounding tissues, control blood vessels and ducts, remove the affected portion, and close the surgical site. Procedures such as partial or complete organ removal support the management of tumors, severe injury, infection, and organ dysfunction, while also providing biological material for diagnosis and research. Studying these operations connects anatomy, physiology, pathology, and surgical biology.
