Ash Content Reduction

Ash content reduction is the process of decreasing the inorganic mineral residue that remains after a material undergoes combustion or high-temperature ashing, an important step in chemical characterization and material processing. It works by separating or removing mineral-rich components through methods such as washing, screening, flotation, or chemical treatment before thermal analysis or use. In chemistry, reducing ash content can improve fuel quality, limit slag and fouling during combustion, and produce cleaner feedstocks for extraction, fermentation, or manufacturing. Measuring the resulting ash fraction also helps assess composition, purity, processing efficiency, and suitability for downstream applications.

Oxidation-Reduction Reactions

2020

Oxidation–Reduction Reactions Earth’s atmosphere contains about 20% molecular oxygen, O2, a chemically reactive gas that plays an essential role in the metabolism of aerobic organisms and in many environmental processes that shape the world. The term oxidation was originally used to describe chemical reactions involving O2, but its meaning has evolved to refer to a broad and important reaction class known as oxidation–reduction (redox) reactions. Some redox reactions involve the transfer of...

Here, we present a reliable and easy assay to measure the glycogen content in cyanobacterial cells. The procedure entails precipitation, selectable depolymerization, and the detection of glucose residues. This method is suitable for both wildtype and genetically engineered strains and can facilitate the metabolic engineering of cyanobacteria.

Stereotype Content Model

The Stereotype Content Model (SCM) was first proposed by Susan Fiske and her colleagues (Fiske, Cuddy, Glick & Xu, 2002; see also Fiske, 2012 and Fiske, 2017). The SCM specifies that when someone encounters a new group, they will stereotype them based on two metrics: warmth—or that group’s perceived intent, and how likely they are to provide help or inflict harm—and competence—or their ability to carry out that objective. Depending on the warmth-competence categorization, a person will feel...

A Reduction of Uncertainty

2026

Lease contracts are essential in reducing financial uncertainties that could impact a firm’s stability. One significant uncertainty is the residual value of an asset at the end of its lease term or useful life. The residual value represents the estimated worth of an asset upon disposal, which can fluctuate due to market conditions and technological changes.By assuming residual value risk, lessors leverage their asset valuation and resale expertise to manage depreciation and market fluctuations.
