Oxide Film Deposition

Oxide film deposition is the formation of a thin, adherent oxide layer on a substrate, a process used to tailor surface properties such as protection, insulation, and optical response. Depending on the material and process, oxygen or an oxygen-containing precursor reacts with the substrate surface, while methods such as thermal oxidation, chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, or atomic layer deposition control film growth through temperature, pressure, plasma, or precursor exposure. Engineers use these films in semiconductor devices, sensors, protective coatings, and energy technologies, where thickness, composition, uniformity, and adhesion influence device performance, durability, and manufacturing reliability.
