Role Model Influence

Role Model Influence is the psychological process through which observing and identifying with another person shapes beliefs, motivation, behavior, or aspirations. It often operates through social learning: individuals attend to a model’s actions and outcomes, remember observed behavior, and may reproduce it when they feel capable, value the behavior, or expect a similar reward. Role models can influence academic goals, career choices, health practices, ethical judgments, and social attitudes, while the model’s perceived competence, similarity, and credibility affect the strength of that influence. Studying these processes helps psychologists understand behavior development and design mentorship, education, and public health interventions.

Human development is shaped by two broad categories of influences: internal and external factors. Internal influences primarily stem from heredity and biological processes, while external influences arise from the environment. Development reflects the continuous interaction between these factors rather than either one alone.Internal InfluencesHeredity refers to genetic information inherited from biological parents. Genes contribute to physical characteristics, such as eye color, body structure,...

The article describes a protocol to simulate the transient temperature profiles and the coupled spatiotemporal variation of the interstitial fluid pressure following the heating delivered by a dipolar radiofrequency hyperthermia system. The protocol can be used to assess the response of biophysical parameters characterizing the tumor microenvironment to interventional hyperthermia techniques.

It is unclear how top-down signals from the ventral visual stream affect movement. We developed a paradigm to test motor behavior towards a target on a 3D depth inversion illusion. Significant differences are reported in both deliberate, goal-directed movements and automatic actions under illusory and veridical viewing conditions.
