Allergy Diagnosis Application

Allergy diagnosis is the clinical process of identifying substances that trigger immune-mediated hypersensitivity and distinguishing allergic disease from other causes of similar symptoms. Evaluation combines medical history and physical examination with tests such as skin-prick testing, serum-specific IgE measurement, or patch testing; in skin-prick testing, an allergen extract activates IgE-sensitized mast cells, producing a localized wheal when sensitization is present. Clinicians interpret test results alongside symptom patterns and exposure history to identify relevant allergens, guide avoidance strategies, and select treatments. Accurate diagnosis supports safer patient care and helps characterize allergic conditions in clinical research.
