Cell Recovery Medium

Cell Recovery Medium is a specialized cell-culture formulation that helps stressed cells regain viability and resume growth after isolation, thawing, dissociation, or other handling. Its mechanism depends on providing a supportive chemical environment, including nutrients, osmotic balance, buffering, and other components that help maintain cellular integrity during the transition back to culture conditions. In cancer research, researchers use recovery media when establishing cultures from tumor specimens, recovering cryopreserved cancer cells, or preparing cells for downstream assays. Consistent recovery can improve cell attachment, expansion, and experimental reproducibility, supporting studies of tumor biology, drug response, and disease mechanisms.
