Lambda Shuttle Vector Recovery

Lambda shuttle vector recovery is a molecular method for retrieving recombinant DNA carried in bacteriophage lambda-based vectors so that genetic sequences or mutations can be analyzed in bacteria. DNA is isolated from the experimental material, packaged into lambda particles through cos-site recognition, and introduced into Escherichia coli, where recovered vectors replicate and are identified by plaque formation or selectable markers. In immunology and infection research, this approach can recover host or microbial genetic information from complex biological samples, support mutation analysis, and link sequence changes to infection-related phenotypes. Its ability to move DNA between mammalian and bacterial systems makes it useful for studying genome stability and pathogen-associated genetic variation.
