Camera Settings

Camera settings are the adjustable controls that determine how a camera records an image, including exposure, focus, color, and detail. In medical photography and imaging, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO work together to control light capture, while white balance corrects color under different illumination; focus and resolution preserve clinically relevant features. Appropriate settings help document wounds, dermatological findings, surgical procedures, and laboratory specimens with consistent, interpretable results. Standardized camera configurations improve image comparison over time, support education and research, and can strengthen clinical communication when photographs are acquired with suitable lighting, scale, patient consent, and privacy safeguards.

2013

A technique for performing quantitative three-dimensional (3D) imaging for a range of fluid flows is presented. Using concepts from the area of Light Field Imaging, we reconstruct 3D volumes from arrays of images. Our 3D results span a broad range including velocity fields and multi-phase bubble size distributions.

Setting Time of Cement

2024

The setting time of cement refers to the process of cement paste transitioning from a plastic state to a solid state. This process is crucial in construction as it dictates the timeframe for concrete placement, compaction, and finishing. The onset of this solidification is termed the initial set, indicating when the paste becomes unworkable. The final set is when the paste has solidified completely, and further handling or manipulation can no longer affect its shape. The cement strength is...

Simultaneously Capturing Real-time Images in Two Emission Channels Using a Dual Camera Emission Splitting System: Applications to Cell Adhesion

2013

Dual camera emission splitting systems for two-color fluorescence microscopy generate real-time image sequences with exceptional optical and temporal resolution, a requirement of certain live cell assays including parallel plate flow chamber adhesion assays. When software is employed to merge images from simultaneously acquired emission channels, pseudocolored image sequences are produced.

Specialized Care Centers and Settings-II

Rural Health Centers Rural health centers are specialized care facilities in remote locations with very few medical personnel. The primary care providers who run the centers are mostly Registered Nurse Practitioners. Here, emergency treatment is provided to critically ill or injured patients before they are transferred to the closest hospital. Fortunately, due to advancement in technology, many rural healthcare facilities and professionals have easy access to diagnostic and treatment...
