Overtime Hours

Overtime hours are the amount of work performed beyond an employee’s scheduled or standard working time, making them a measurable indicator of labor demand, workload, and time allocation. In statistics, researchers quantify overtime by defining the reference work period, collecting hours for individuals or groups, and using measures such as the mean, median, distribution, and variability to describe patterns and compare populations. These analyses can reveal differences across occupations, industries, or time periods while helping assess workload trends, staffing needs, and relationships between working time and other measured outcomes. Careful definitions and representative data are essential because reporting practices and unusually high values can influence results.

Holter Monitor: 24-Hour Monitoring

2025

Holter monitoring is a continuous electrocardiography (ECG) recording that tracks the heart's electrical activity over an extended period, generally 24 to 48 hours. This noninvasive diagnostic tool detects irregular heart rhythms that may not be captured during a standard ECG performed in a clinical setting.DeviceThe Holter monitor is a portable, small device connected to several electrodes on the patient's chest. These electrodes detect the heart's electrical signals and transmit them to the...
