Imagestream Cytometer

An ImageStream cytometer is an imaging flow cytometry instrument that combines the rapid, multiparameter analysis of flow cytometry with the visual information provided by microscopy. As cells flow through a focused stream, the system records brightfield, darkfield, and fluorescence images of individual cells, while software quantifies features such as morphology, signal intensity, and subcellular localization. In bioengineering, this approach supports analysis of cell states, biomaterial interactions, drug responses, and engineered tissues. By linking molecular measurements with cell structure, ImageStream cytometry helps researchers distinguish heterogeneous populations and evaluate complex biological processes with greater contextual detail.
