Summary
Amerikanska biokemisten Roger Tsien delade 2008 Nobelpriset i kemi med Martin Chalfie och Osamu Shimomura för deras upptäckt och utveckling av det grönt fluorescerande proteinet (GFP). Tsien förbättrats dramatiskt de vildtyp GFP resulterar i ökad fluorescens, ökad fotostabilitet, och en förskjutning i de stora excitation topp till 488 nm (matchning FITC).
