Mb49 Psa Cells

MB49-PSA cells are a specialized murine bladder carcinoma cell model used in cancer research to study tumor growth and antigen-specific immune responses. Derived from the MB49 line, they retain cancer-cell properties while expressing prostate-specific antigen (PSA), a defined tumor-associated antigen that can be detected or targeted by immune assays. Researchers use these cells in culture and mouse tumor models to evaluate cancer vaccines, T-cell or antibody responses, and immunotherapies, linking antigen recognition with tumor control. Their reproducibility supports mechanistic studies of immune surveillance and preclinical treatment design.

We present a protocol to identify protein moieties containing antigens for human and mouse IgM antibodies with specific kappa (Vκ) light chains. This protocol is not limited to IgM class antibodies but applies to all immunoglobulin isotypes that target their antigen with sufficiently high affinity during immunoprecipitations.

To unravel the earliest molecular mechanisms underlying prostate cancer initiation, novel and innovative human model systems and approaches are desperately needed. The potential of pre-prostatic urogenital sinus mesenchyme (UGSM) to induce pluripotent stem cell populations to form human prostate epithelium is a powerful experimental tool in prostate research.
