Mixed Reality Smart Glasses

Mixed reality smart glasses are wearable computing devices that combine digital content with a user’s view of the physical environment, enabling interactive perception and task support. They use cameras, depth sensors, inertial measurement units, displays, and onboard processing to map surrounding spaces, track head and hand movement, and anchor three-dimensional digital objects to real surfaces in real time. In engineering, these systems support design visualization, assembly guidance, maintenance, remote collaboration, and training, while reducing reliance on physical prototypes and improving access to spatial information; their effectiveness depends on accurate registration, low latency, ergonomic design, and safe human-machine interaction.
