Ultrasound-guided Injection

Ultrasound-guided injection is a technique that uses real-time ultrasound imaging to direct a needle toward a target while monitoring surrounding anatomy, improving procedural precision and safety. The ultrasound probe generates high-frequency sound waves, and returning echoes form images of tissues, nerves, blood vessels, and the advancing needle; clinicians use these views to adjust needle position and deliver a substance at the intended site. In neuroscience and pain research, the method supports targeted injections near peripheral nerves or other relevant structures, enabling localized drug delivery, nerve blockade, and investigation of neural function while helping reduce unintended tissue injury.
