Intravesical Therapy Evaluation

Intravesical therapy evaluation is the systematic assessment of treatments delivered directly into the bladder, an approach that enables cancer researchers to study local therapeutic effects while limiting reliance on systemic exposure. During evaluation, a drug or biological agent is instilled through a catheter and retained in the bladder so it can contact the urothelium and tumor tissue; researchers then measure treatment response, safety, tolerability, and relevant pharmacologic outcomes. This framework supports preclinical and clinical research on bladder cancer therapies, helping compare treatment strategies, identify effective dosing conditions, and guide the development of more precise local interventions.
