Single Cell Integration

Single-cell integration is a computational approach that combines single-cell datasets from different experiments, tissues, platforms, or patients to enable meaningful comparison of cellular states. It aligns shared biological signals while reducing technical variation, such as batch effects, by identifying corresponding cell populations, features, or latent representations across datasets. In cancer research, single-cell integration can unify tumor and normal samples, reveal intratumoral heterogeneity, track malignant and immune cell states, and clarify how tumors respond to treatment. These analyses support the construction of broader cellular atlases and help researchers distinguish disease-associated biology from artifacts introduced during sample preparation or sequencing.
