Co2 Sorption Analysis

CO2 sorption analysis is the quantitative study of how materials take up, retain, and release carbon dioxide, providing essential information about gas storage and transport in environmental systems. The method typically measures carbon dioxide adsorption or absorption as pressure or concentration changes, generating sorption isotherms that reveal capacity, affinity, and interactions between CO2 and a material’s surface or internal structure. Researchers apply these measurements to evaluate porous solids, soils, sediments, and geological formations for carbon capture and storage, assess environmental carbon cycling, and compare materials under controlled temperature and pressure conditions. The resulting data support process design, performance assessment, and predictions of long-term CO2 behavior.

We describe a modified method for membrane fraction isolation from human cells and sample preparation for the detection of SCAP N-glycosylation and total protein by using western blot. We further introduce a GFP-labeling method to monitor SCAP trafficking using confocal microscopy. This protocol can be used in regular biology laboratories.

Salmonella invades and replicates inside intestinal epithelial cells both in Salmonella-specific vacuoles and free in the cytosol (hyper-replication). A high-throughput fluorescence microscopy-based protocol is described here to quantify the intracellular phenotypes of Salmonella by two complementary image analyses through ImageJ, reaching single-cell resolution and scoring.
