Tracking Software

Tracking software is a digital system for recording, organizing, and monitoring entities or events over time, helping researchers maintain consistent, searchable records. In immunology and infection research, it links identifiers, sample metadata, experimental conditions, clinical observations, and assay results within structured databases, allowing changes and relationships to be traced across studies. Such systems support specimen management, pathogen surveillance, immune-response monitoring, and longitudinal analysis of infection outcomes. By improving data consistency, traceability, and collaboration, tracking software can reduce record-keeping errors and help researchers compare findings, identify trends, and connect experimental evidence with disease progression or treatment response.

Locomotor activity (LMA) is a simple and easily performed measurement of behavior in mice. Coupling of video tracking software (VTS) and LMA allows for the improvement of specificity and sensitivity, especially when compared with the manual, line crossing method of LMA analysis. Additionally VTS allows long-term tracking of mouse LMA.

A Graphical User Interface for Software-assisted Tracking of Protein Concentration in Dynamic Cellular Protrusions

The current study aimed to automate the quantification of motor deficits in rats. The initial evaluation model assesses motor loss resulting from an intracortical microelectrode implantation in the motor cortex. We report on the development and use of a tracking algorithm using easily adaptable, simple, and readily available coding software.

Neural control and cognitive processes can be studied through eye movements. The VisualEyes software allows an operator to program stimuli on two computer screens independently using a simple, custom scripting language. The system can stimulate tandem eye movements (saccades and smooth pursuit) or opposing eye movements (vergence) or any combination.
