Testicular Blood Drainage

Testicular blood drainage is the venous outflow system that returns deoxygenated blood from the testes while supporting temperature regulation and reproductive function. Blood first passes through the pampiniform plexus, a network of veins in the spermatic cord that surrounds the testicular artery and enables countercurrent heat exchange; these vessels unite as the testicular veins. The right testicular vein typically drains directly into the inferior vena cava, whereas the left drains into the left renal vein. Understanding this anatomy aids evaluation of varicocele, infertility, scrotal pain, and venous obstruction, and supports accurate interpretation of imaging and surgical procedures.

Acid Mine Drainage

2026

Mining activities that disturb sulfide-rich rocks, particularly those containing pyrite (FeS₂), initiate a cascade of geochemical and microbiological processes with serious environmental implications. When exposed to air and water, pyrite undergoes oxidation, releasing sulfate, ultimately forming sulfuric acid and mobilizing heavy metals into surrounding water systems. This phenomenon, known as acid mine drainage (AMD), results in low pH waters laden with toxic elements that threaten aquatic...

We present a method to collect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and to create a system which lacks CSF within the embryonic zebrafish brain ventricular system. This allows for further examination of CSF composition and its requirement during embryonic brain development.

Capturing Flow-weighted Water and Suspended Particulates from Agricultural Canals During Drainage Events
